About Edit PDF Metadata

The title shown in a browser tab, in search results and in a document management system comes from the PDF's metadata, not from the file name. This sets it, along with the author, subject, keywords, the application name and the document language that screen readers use.

Where a file carries an XMP packet - which Acrobat and indexers prefer - it is rewritten from the same values, so you do not end up with two different titles.

How to use it

  1. 1Add one or more PDFs.
  2. 2Fill in the fields you want to set; leave the rest empty to keep what is there.
  3. 3Run it and download the files.
