About Repair PDF
Most "this file is damaged" errors are about the file's index rather than its content: a cross-reference table with the wrong offsets, a download that stopped early, or a page tree with a dangling reference. The repair reads the objects directly, rebuilds the catalogue and page list where needed, drops what cannot be parsed and writes a fresh, correct index.
If even that fails, the pages can be rescued as images - a last resort that saves what can still be seen but loses selectable text. It cannot invent content that is not in the file.
How to use it
