About GZIP a file

Uses the browser’s native CompressionStream, so there is nothing to download and the file streams through rather than being held in memory twice. Text compresses dramatically - a server log or a CSV export routinely drops by 80 to 90 percent. A .gz holds exactly one file; use Create ZIP for several.

How to use it

  1. 1Drop your TXT, LOG, CSV and JSON file into the box, paste it, or tap browse.
  2. 2Adjust the settings if the defaults are not what you need.
  3. 3Run the tool. The work happens on your own device.
  4. 4Download the result.
