Evening Desert Safari with BBQ dinner — Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve
The classic Dubai evening: 4x4 dune-bashing through the conservation reserve, sunset over the Big Red, then a Bedouin-style camp with grilled dinner and live entertainment.

An evening desert safari is the single most-booked tourist experience in the UAE, and for good reason: you cover sand-dune driving, a Bedouin-style camp with traditional food, and live entertainment under the stars — all in a single 6-hour window with hotel pick-up included.
How it runs
Pick-up is typically 14:30–15:30 from your Dubai hotel in a 4-wheel-drive Land Cruiser. You'll drive 45-60 minutes inland to the edge of the dunes, where tyres are deflated, then spend about 30 minutes dune-bashing — short steep climbs and slides across the soft sand. Operators stop at a high dune for sunset photos before continuing to a desert camp.
At the camp
Short camel ride around the camp perimeter.
Sandboarding for those who want to try.
Henna tattoos, shisha and Arabic coffee with dates.
Live shows rotating through tanoura spinner, belly dancer and fire performer.
Buffet dinner — grilled lamb, chicken shawarma, hummus, salads, fresh bread, dessert. Vegetarian options on request.
What to wear
Loose, breathable clothes; closed-toe shoes for the camp (sandals will fill with sand instantly); a light layer for after sunset when desert temperatures drop quickly. Photographers should bring a lens-blower — the dune sand is fine and gets everywhere.
Who it's not for
Pregnant women, those with back conditions and young children under 3 should skip the dune-bashing portion — most operators offer a 'gentle' itinerary that goes straight to the camp.
