About Remove Image Metadata (EXIF)

Photos carry more than they show: the camera and phone model, the date and time, the settings - and often the exact GPS position where the picture was taken. This removes all of it.

It is lossless. The file's structure is rebuilt without the metadata blocks and every byte of picture data is copied unchanged, so there is no re-compression. Two things are kept by default because they change how the photo looks, not what it reveals: the rotation flag (rewritten as a single tag) and the colour profile. Data appended after the image - the extra preview pictures phones hide there, each with its own GPS - is dropped too.
