Local etiquette

Dress is casual in most settings, smarter in fine restaurants. Tipping is 5-10% if service was good, never expected but appreciated. Most Germans don't drink heavily at meals like some cultures do, but beer culture is real. Be punctual: lateness is considered disrespectful. Asking permission before photographing people is standard courtesy.

Germany is very safe. Public transport is reliable and secure even late at night. Petty theft in major tourist zones happens occasionally, so watch bags on crowded trains and in markets.
